The Newfound Regional High School Athletics Hall of Fame provides a means by which to recognize the significant contributions of athletes, coaches, teams, and contributors to Bristol High School, Newfound Memorial High School, and Newfound Regional High School while reinforcing a sense of history and tradition.

Induction into the Hall of Fame will be in conjunction with Newfound Regional High School's Homecoming held every fall.

The number of inductees each year will be a the discretion of the Hall of Fame selection committee. Deceased athletes, coaches or contributors are eligible to be inducted.

Nominations for the Athletic Hall of Fame will be accepted through March 31st of each year. Nominations should be made to the Athletic Director.

ELIGIBILITY

Criteria for selection into the Athletic Hall of Fame:

Athletes

  1. Must have graduated from Bristol High School, Newfound Memorial High School or Newfound Regional High School.
  2. Must have been out of high school a minimum of 15 years.
  3. Must have exemplified outstanding athletic abilities, talents, and achievements.
  4. Must have participated for a minimum of two years on at least one varsity team.
  5. Must have represented Newfound Athletics in a positive fashion, both as an undergraduate, and as an alumnus.

Coaches

  1. Must have coached at Bristol High School, Newfound Memorial High School or Newfound Regional High School a minimum of 10 years.
  2. Must have represented Newfound Athletics in a positive fashion, while at Newfound, and as a former coach.

Teams

  1. All teams must be 10 years beyond accomplishment.
  2. The induction of a team shall not prohibit the separate induction of one or more of its members.

Contributors

  1. A graduate, employee or former employee of Bristol High School, Newfound Memorial High School or Newfound Regional High School who has made significant contributions in the athletic world.
  2. An individual who has made a significant contribution to athletics at Bristol High School, Newfound Memorial High School, or Newfound Regional High School.

PROCESS

  1. Names and a resume of their athletics accomplishments are submitted to the Athletic Director.
  2. The Athletic Director will schedule a committee meeting during the month of April each year.
  3. The list of nominees shall be evaluated yearly. Once a person is nominated, they remain on the list for future consideration or until the committee removes them. Normally, a nominee would not be on the list for more than 10 years.
  4. The number of inductees each year will be at the discretion of the Hall of Fame selection committee.
  5. The Athletic Director will notify the inductees and coordinate the Hall of Fame Induction ceremony.
  6. Each inductee shall receive a plaque and have their name on a plaque displayed at NRHS.
  7. Each inductee will be introduced, have a video presentation and allowed an opportunity to express his/her thoughts. (After the first couple of years, one person shall be selected to speak on behalf of the entire class).
  8. Criteria, based on a time period to be eligible to be inducted, can be waived for extenuating circumstances.
